GET OFF THE FLAT RANGE!

UT45 Shooters Club is a dynamic shooting club based in Utah County. We are a group made up diverse backgrounds, where you’d find first responders, blue collar guys and gals, veterans, IT professionals, construction workers, and moms and dads.   We love to share our love of firearms and shooting sports with other enthusiasts from all walks of life and all experience levels.

We believe in safe and responsible ownership and use of firearms.  We value our freedom of use of firearms for sport, hunting, self-protection and wish to help others become safe, responsible, skilled and capable.  We use many different training modes, as well as realistic and dynamic scenarios to train our members to become the best they can be.  We believe there is a time and place for the “flat range” and of course we use range practice effectively.  However, UT45 builds on the basics of range shooting, and adds principles of dynamic shooting, movement and communication. How do we do that? By capitalizing on our team’s vast experience on firearm use, as well as equipment knowledge.

Our club isn’t a bunch of dudes sitting around bragging all day about their gear, their gun(s) or past exploits. Our measuring stick is getting up on the line or running the drill and demonstrating skills on target.   And our skills directly translate into an ability to better protect your family and friends.  We don’t just help people learn how to shoot better; we help them become skilled responsible firearm professionals.  We strive for a non-judgmental, supportive, positive growth learning environment, and want to attract those who want to learn and teach.

UT45 is a non-profit club. All event fees go right back into the club, equipment and events. We use these fees to help build capabilities and to support the club's logistical requirements.  Our Officers and members volunteer countless hours each year to run the club for the benefit of our members.

Showing up at a UT45 event for the first time, a guest would find a highly organized, safe, and professionally run event, as well as a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

We invite you to come out to one of the UT45 organized events.  We are confident you will enjoy yourself, feel confident in a safe learning environment, and even make some new friends.  We look forward to seeing you at a UT45 Shooters Club event in the future.

Please note, UT45 invites all persons to join our membership, but does not admit individuals who want to learn firearm and shooting skills for nefarious purposes.  UT45 makes every effort to remove persons from our membership that support anti-government, racist, biased or violent purposes, groups or causes.  We are not aligned with any political party or social cause.  We are merely a group of people who believe in second amendment freedoms, personal protection, and supporting our military and law enforcement services.  Many members are current or past members of the military and law enforcement, or first responders.  If you do not agree with the concept of a non-biased organization, please consider not participating in our events

GUN SAFETY RULES

BEARING ARMS IS YOUR RIGHT, PROTECTING YOUR FAMILY IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.

Guns are dangerous when they are not handled or used properly and can easily injure or kill you, and those around you. There are no second chances with a gun and the rules for safe gun handling must always be followed to avoid accidents.

THE GOLDEN RULES FOR SAFE GUN HANDLING

  • Always treat the gun as loaded.

  • Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.

  • Always keep your finger straight and off the trigger until you are ready to shoot.

  • Never point the gun at anything you don't intend to destroy.

  • Be sure the barrel is clear of obstructions before loading and shooting.

  • Be sure of your target and what is beyond it.

  • Be aware of your surroundings when handling guns so you don't trip or lose your balance and accidentally point and/or fire the gun at anyone or anything.

  • Learn the mechanical and handling characteristics of the gun you are using.

  • Always use proper Ammunition.

  • If your gun fails to fire when the trigger is pulled, hold your shooting position for several seconds; then with the muzzle pointed in a safe direction, carefully unload the gun.

  • Don't rely on the gun's safety to keep it from firing.

  • When in Doubt; Don't shoot.

RANGE SAFETY

  • Know and follow all the rules of the Shooting Range.

  • Listen and do what the Range Master tells you to do.

  • Uncase and case your gun at the shooting bench, never behind the safety line.

  • Always keep the barrel pointed down range.

  • Always keep the gun on safe until you intend to shoot.

  • Always wear eye and ear protection when shooting.

  • Never shoot at water or hard surfaces.
